Get discounted films, television programmes, apps and music with 10% off Google Play gift cards at Asda.
What’s the deal exactly?
Asda is offering 10% discount on all Google Play £25 and £50 gift cards between now and Sunday 22 October, bringing the cost down to £22.50 and £45 respectively.
The gift cards are available in all Asda shops and can be redeemed against anything on Google Play. This includes smartphone apps, movies and TV downloads, eBooks and music.
Why should I care?
Christmas is on the horizon and a Google Play gift card could be an ideal present for a gamer, movie fan or smartphone user.
What’s the catch?
There is no catch with this offer, simply pick up a gift card in Asda and the discount will be applied at the checkout.
The offer runs until Sunday 22 October and the discount is only available in-store at Asda, not online.
It’s also worth pointing out before buying that gift cards have many pitfalls. If you lose the card you usually won’t get your money back, you don’t get the consumer rights protection you’d get if you paid using credit or debit card and the card could be worthless if the store goes bust.

What other options do I have?
The gift card will give you credit to be redeemed against anything on Google Play, including smartphone and tablet apps. But there are plenty of good free apps available, read the Moneywise guide to the best banking apps to see our top picks.
